Laser Operator – CNC Laser Cutting
Skilled CNC Laser Operator to set up, program and run laser cutting machines while maintaining quality, safety and production targets.

The CNC Laser Cutter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts according to technical drawings and specifications. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently within a manufacturing environment.
Full time position with plenty of OT available.
Basic rate is $36 P/H,will have OT every single week.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber or CO₂) to cut metal and other materials according to job specifications
- Load, modify, and run CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
- Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and cutting lists
- Select appropriate materials, tools, and machine settings (power, speed, gas type)
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as required to maintain quality
- Inspect finished components using measuring tools (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of CNC laser equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
- Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures
- Meet production targets while maintaining quality standards
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams
- Strong understanding of CNC machining and laser cutting processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, TruTops, BySoft, or similar)
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Trade qualification or certificate in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience working with materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminium, or sheet metal
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Understanding of WHS regulations in a manufacturing environment
