A well-regarded residential aged care home in regional Queensland, with a clear philosophy: provide all the tools, equipment, facilities and education necessary for staff to deliver the highest level of care. The home has a strong accreditation track record, most recently passing accreditation with flying colours by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission in 2023. Suitable candidates will receive a detailed review of the home, its areas of focus, and growth plans for the years ahead.
THE ROLE:
As a Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON), you will support the Director of Nursing (DON), ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care in a warm, person-centred environment. Your day-to-day role will include:
- Supporting the DON in ensuring the facility remains compliant with all State and Federal regulatory requirements
- Assisting in the management of AN-ACC to ensure accurate claiming in line with resident care needs
- Contributing to Continuous Quality Improvement across care delivery, education, and staff development
- Collaborating with Heads of Department and care staff to ensure each resident's needs and preferences are at the centre of everything you do
- Supporting effective rostering and workforce management to maintain consistent care standards within budget
- Participating in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of staff
- Assisting in maintaining staff files, police check registers, and compliance documentation in line with aged care standards
- Promoting a team culture built on the organisation's values, ethics, and code of conduct
- Contributing to stakeholder satisfaction by supporting residents, families, and representatives with professionalism and care
- Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions
- At least 3 years of clinical experience within Aged Care in Australia
- Proven understanding of and commitment to aged care accreditation requirements
- Current National Police Check and NDIS Screening with no disclosable outcomes
- Up to date compliance for the Aged Care sector including mandatory vaccinations
- Valid working rights in Australia
